the above is the benefits and of each prestige if you choose to do so. The downfall is that you lose all your money, weapons, any equipment, and any pro perks you've unlocked. I choose to prestige and will continue to do so until i hit 15. I just currently made it to 10th prestige last week. So I'm more then half way there. What prestige are you guys at or did you choose not to do so?

Call of Duty: Black Ops Sniper Rifle
Sniper Rifles are generally weapons only used by players with a higher skill level, since they can often be very hard to use effectively. Call of Duty: Black Ops has a pretty good selection of sniper rifles, some of which can be extremely deadly if you can get past the slow fire rate and high recoil. If you can learn how to use these powerful weapons than you will top the charts, if not, well, stick to your SMG.
Rate of Fire: 235
Clip Size: 5
Damage: 70-50
The PSG1 is pretty standard for a sniper rifle, with a low rate of fire and high damage. Unlike other Sniper Rifles in Call of Duty: Black Ops, the PSG1 has a very quick scope reset speed, making it a little bit more versatile in tricky situations. Unfortunately adding any attachment will make the damage too low to kill in one hit, which can be pretty annoying. The PSG1 also has a small magazine, although that is normal for assault rifles. All in all, a pretty standard sniper rifle.
Rate of Fire: Bolt-Action
Clip Size: 5
Damage: 70-50
The L96A1 is essentially your classic AWP like Sniper Rifle from Counter Strike. Extremely high damage coupled with a fairly slow firing rate and terrible recoil, this is the sort of weapon that really hurts when you miss. However, despite all of its misgivings, it is still an awesome weapon in the hands of a skilled player, and is a pretty common sight in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Recommended for experienced players.
Rate of Fire: Semi-Auto
Clip Size: 10
Damage: 80-70
The Dragunov is one of the better Sniper rifles in the game, with high damage and manageable gun sway and recoil. Perks aside, the Dragunov has one of the highest damages of all the Sniper Rifles in Call of Duty: Black Ops. The only real downside is how massive the actual weapon model is, which can be seen sticking out of a window from a long distance away, which always sucks
Rate of Fire: 235
Clip Size: 6
Damage: 70-50
The WA2000 is one of the more interesting sniper rifles in Call of Duty: Black Ops. First off, while it retains the high damage of other weapons, it has a faster ADS speed and handles much easier than the other sniper rifles. It is still a one shot kill weapon, although it cannot zoom as far as other sniper rifles, making it a more effective medium-range weapon. Probably one of the better options for players looking to bridge the gap between standard weapons and sniper rifles, which can often be hard to use.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Light Machine Gun Guide
Light Machine Guns or “LMGs” are essentially larger, slower, and more powerful automatic weapons. In the Call of Duty series, LMGs have been characterized by large clip sizes, decent damage, and usually poor recoil. Call of Duty: Black Ops features a number of light machine guns, some of which, such as the Stoner63, being among the best weapons in the game.
Rate of Fire: 750
Clip Size: 40
Damage: 40
The RPK is a pretty decent all around Light Machine Gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops. With high damage and a high rate of fire, the RPK is a great weapon for spraying down enemy players, especially at medium range. The RPK has pretty high recoil, which means it can be a bit harder to use at long range. Likewise, the long reload times make it dangerous to use at close range as well, although the high rate of fire allows you to content with most weapons in CQC
Rate of Fire: 750
Clip Size: 30
Damage: 40
The HK21 is the first Light Machine Gun in Black Ops, and is also one of the strangest to use. Although the HK21 has the stopping power and reflexes of a LMG, the small clip is similar to that of an assault rifle. Unfortunately you cannot use the HK21 like an AR, since it gets dominated at closer ranges by faster firing weapons. The HK21 is best used to support your teammates from cover, as it can be very deadly at medium to long ranges. Using the round drum attachment is also a viable way to bring the magazine size up to par with the other light machine guns in the game.
Rate of Fire: 535
Clip Size: 100
Damage: 50-40
The M60 is arguably one of the best, if not the best LMG in Call of Duty: Black Ops. It features extremely high damage coupled with a decent output of fire and manageable recoil, making it deadly at medium ranges especially. The large clip size means you will spend less time reloading, although the reload time is the longest in the game. Since the gun has a great amount of natural ammo, you can substitute ammo oriented perks for ones like Hardened or Warlord, making the M60 an absolute beast in the battlefield
Rate of Fire: 937.5
Clip Size: 30
Damage: 50-40
The Stoner63 is the “classified” weapon unlocked by acquiring the rest of the light machine guns in Call of Duty: Black Ops. This LMG features a high rate of fire and damage, giving it the highest output of damage in the entire game. The main issue however, is the small clip size and poor hipfire accuracy, which can be solved using perks or weapon attachments. The Stoner63 also had great ADS speed, making it play almost like a very powerful assault rifle. As you can plainly see, this is a very commonly used weapon in Black Ops.
