The FAMAS, a favorite from Modern Warfare 2, is back in Call of Duty: Black Ops as an automatic assault rifle rather than a burst fire weapon. Featuring a high rate of fire and low initial recoil, the FAMAS is decent at all ranges, and can even stand up to other weapons at close range due to the firing rate. While the damage is lower than other assault rifles, it is much better in close quarters combat, especially on hardcore mode. A good all around weapon, much like it predecessor in Modern Warfare 2.

    AK-74u is pretty hood, I also like to use the Stoner63 cuz its beast!

    Not such a good weapon....but it's not so bad either. My favorite would have to be either the MP-7 or F2000.

    It is a pretty overpowered weapon in my opinion, just not enough recoil. However my favorite is the ak.

    Famas is good, but I prefer the AK-74u with Grip, I ruin lots of domination matches with that baby

    Never bothered to remember names in CoD, however, this is my favourite weapon in splinter cell (lol, they have assault rifles in SC)
